MPOB is the premier government agency entrusted to serve the country's oil palm industry. Its main role is to promote and develop national objectives, policies and priorities for the well-being of the Malaysian oil palm industry.

The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) is the custodian of the rubber industry in Malaysia. Established on 1 January 1998, it has under its fold three well established agencies (RRIM, MRRDB and MRELB), which are now merged into one, which have contributed significantly to the development of the rubber industry for the last 78 years. The R&D excellence in NR, accomplished by the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia (RRIM), has had an impact on the Malaysian NR industry and other NR producing countries.

The Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) is a statutory body accredited to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities. MTIB was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. The main objective is to promote and coordinate the overall development of the timber industry.

The Malaysian Cocoa Board (MCB) is a federal statutory research and development agency under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (previously called Ministry of Primary Industries Malaysia). It was established under the Act of Parliament 343 (incorporation) in 1988 and has been in operation since 1989. The main objective is to develop the cocoa industry in Malaysia to be well integrated and competitive in the global market. Emphasis is given to increasing productivity and efficiency in cocoa bean production and increasing downstream activities.

The Malaysian Pepper Board Draf 2006 was drafted and passed by Dewan Rakyat on 26 June 2006 and by Dewan Negara on 19 July 2006. Upon receiving consent from Parliament and effective 1 January 2007, Malaysian Pepper Board was officially established. Malaysian Pepper Board was officially launched by Y.B. Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Plantation Industries And Commodities on 4 January 2007 at Hilton Hotel, Kuching.

National Tobacco Board (NTB) was established as a Federal statutory body under the National Tobacco Act (Incorporation) 1973 (Act 111). It is administered by a Board of Directors and is placed under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC). LTN’s mission is to develop and enhance the tobacco industry to make it more efficient and viable in its contribution to the national socioeconomic development.

The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) was incorporated on January 25, 1990. It is charged with spearheading the promotional and marketing activities of Malaysian palm oil in the effort to make it the leading oil in the global oils and fats market.

 

The Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council (MREPC) was incorporated on 14 April 2000 under the Companies Act as a company limited by guarantee to undertake the market promotion of rubber and rubber manufactured products in the world markets, particularly in support of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

 

The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) was established in January 1992 to promote the development of the timber-based industry in Malaysia and the marketing of timber products. Formed on the initiative of the timber industry and incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 as a company limited by guarantee, MTC is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.

The Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) is an independent organisation established to develop and operate a voluntary national timber certification scheme in Malaysia, in order to provide independent assessments of forest management practices as well as to meet the demand for certified timber products.

The Malaysian Furniture Promotion Council (MFPC) was established in 2003 as a corporate body under the Companies Act of Malaysia 1965. It is tasked with the responsibility to promote and develop the Malaysian furniture manufacturing and export industry as a substantial foreign exchange earning sector of the national economy
